Been there, done that.

Gives new meaning to "being stuck in the can..."

It's one way to get from point number one to point No. 2...

...OK...I'll give it up...I'm not funny.

Wanna know the worst of it? With the poop drained into the tunnel, he won't be able to reach up to the outhouse hole. So he'll be back in his cell, only covered in bowel goo.

Dorse, how hard is it to get that stank off you?

This made me think of this verse. Don't know why. It doesn't really have anything to do with the punchline - I guess it just made me think of soap.

Jeremiah 2:22 "Although you wash yourself with lye and use much soap, the stain of your iniquity is before Me," declares the Lord GOD.

It reminds me more of Malachi 2:2-3 where God says he’ll spread doodoo on the peoples faces. (Ah... Doodoo that is a very funny word!)

It reminds me of how I try to dig myself out a problem only to be in a bigger pit, in this case a poopey mess.
Poops is also a funny word.

I suspect that many of us think that we leave a church to get away from its bullshit - and find that we are wrong!

Pete, that's an interesting idea. I have to say, I don't miss getting away from the bullshit at church. But now, just as the smell has started to die down, I question whether it's worth some of the other stuff I also gave up. Having gotten away, it's really, really hard to think about crawling back in.

Kind of reminds me of the Shawshank Redemption.

I've gone to a couple of church services so far at a charismatic church close to home. I take comfort in the fact that

1) it's closer to home than the old church

2) nobody is bugging me to be on the board or get involved

3) I don't know anybody, so I don't have to fake how happy I am to see them.

OK, so this is a VERY small start at going to church. I want to exercise more discipline in my spiritual life anyway, so in its way this is helpful.

Fact remains, I'm just not that into evangechurch so I have to challenge myself to look beyond my distaste and appreciate the good in it.
